Laboratory/Bench Refractometers- Bellingham + Stanley

Bellingham + Stanley offer one of the largest choices of digital refractometers in the World today.

Abbe 5 Refractometer

The Abbe 5 is an affordable refractometer ideally suited for use where a wide refractive index measurement range is required such as in small contract laboratories or applications where sample throughput is relatively low. The instrument is also ideal for practical demonstrations and experiments in chemistry and physics laboratories of schools, colleges and universities...Download brochure

Abbe 60 Refractometers

More stringent requirements of quality control and, in some cases, changing legislation, mean that greater accuracy is being demanded of refractometers. The Abbe 60 Direct Reading models, available in two measuring ranges, have been designed to meet these requirements.
Abbe 60 Direct Reading Refractometers
Direct reading models are particularly suitable for the measurement of sugar solutions and sugar content of food and drink products. They can also be used to determine the refractive index of pure liquids, solutions and formulated products including: flavourings, fragrances, oils and fats, solvents, plastics, resins, adhesives and many other industrial chemicals.
High Accuracy Range of Abbe 60 Refractometers
The high accuracy models are designed for use with monochromatic light sources such as the sodium and spectral source range available from Bellingham + Stanley. A computer program (Windows-based) for conversion of scale readings to refractive index (RI) or Brix (Sugar %) is supplied with each instrument. High Accuracy Abbe 60 Refractometers are ideal for use in research and development, quality control and other industrial laboratories where the highest accuracy and precision is often sought...Download brochure

RFM300+ Refractometers

Refractometers with Peltier Temperature Control for Food and other Industrial Applications
RFM300+ refractometers encompass attributes of their predecessors and also offer a wider refractive index range and Peltier temperature control. A shallow, easy to clean prism dish houses a new, single sapphire prism optical system protected by a sample presser that may also be used to instigate a measurement without the need to press the read button. A large sampling area on the prism surface allows measurement of not only homogenous fluids like edible and mineral oils but also difficult to read samples like fruit pulps and industrial resins...Download brochure

RFM311 Wall-Mounted Refractometer

With space saving and ergonomics in mind, wall mounting allows the RFM311 refractometer to be sited close to a sampling point in a factory. The funnel flow cell arrangement is designed to give rapid and reliable sampling with easy cleaning. The vertical orientation of the cell helps remove gas and prevents deposition of suspended solids on the prism surface. The RFM311 may be used in a variety of applications. A particular example is the rapid and reliable measurement of the sugar content of grape must which is required to assess the value of a particular harvest for wine making...Request information

RFM340 Automatic Digital Refractometer

The RFM340 refractometer from Bellingham + Stanley meets the requirements of highest precision and repeatability for a wide range of industrial applications of refractometry. The RFM340 is derived from highly developed designs utilising state-of-the-art technologies and is crafted to the highest standards with the best available materials. The RFM340 is designed for easy operation: measurement and data recording, temperature control and monitoring, cleaning and rapid calibration. In addition to the standard Sugar (Brix) scale with optional automatic temperature compensation and the Refractive Index (RI) scale, additional pre-programmed scales are provided. Interchange of scales and measurement mode are made simple with the push-button menus...Download brochure

RFM390 Refractometers- Custom Models

RFM390 special adaptations and modifications can often be accommodated to meet particular customer requirements. When hardware or software changes are made to an RFM300 model, the instrument is coded as 'RFM390'. Examples of RFM390s are as follows:
RFM390 for resins and adhesives.
Short range/high precision calibration (possibly at a particular temperature) - edible oil applications.
Sensor fitted to presser arm to ensure presser is in lowered position prior to measurement
Kalrez gasket material fitted for applications where solvents are aggressive towards silicon seals
Special flowcells fitted for use with hazardous materials...Request information

RFM700 Series Automatic Digital Refractometers

RFM700 series refractometers are robust, low cost, fully automatic instruments that are ideally suited to the food, sugar and beverage industries but can now be used in many other non food applications. Designed with ultimate simplicity in mind, RFM700 models offer digital automatic technology at low cost. The new models are particularly suited to wine applications, as industry standard scales such as Baume, Oechsle, and Probable Alcohol (A.P.) can easily be downloaded from B + S...Download brochure

RFM900 Series Refractometers- with Peltier Temperature Control

Refractometers with Peltier Temperature Control for Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical and Other applications Requiring a Wide Measuring Range. The RFM900 series of refractometers combine latest opto-electronic principles with durability and ease of use. RFM900 refractometers feature RFID (radio frequency identification) that allows users to identify themselves by simply swiping a tag across the top of the instrument to enable measurement and in certain cases, access to the configuration menu...Download brochure
